Ingredients
For the Panna Cotta:
2 cups (500ml) milk
1 cup (250ml) heavy cream
½ cup (100g) sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 ½ tsp (7g) gelatin powder
3 tbsp water
For the Caramelized Banana Topping:
2 ripe bananas, sliced
½ cup (100g) brown sugar
2 tbsp butter
¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)
¼ cup (60ml) water
Instructions
Making the Panna Cotta:
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over 3 tbsp of water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk, heavy cream, and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves (do not boil).
- Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract. Stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.
- Pour the mixture into serving glasses or ramekins. Let it cool slightly, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
Making the Caramelized Banana Topping:
- In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter and add brown sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the banana slices and cinnamon. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the bananas are soft and coated in caramel.
- Add the water and stir to make a sauce. Let it cool slightly.
