Ingredients:

2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed

3 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

3 tbsp butter

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 1 tbsp water)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Set to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook Apples: In a pan over medium heat, melt butter and add apple slices, both sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Cook for 5โ€“7 minutes until apples soften. Stir in cornstarch mixture and cook for 1 more minute until thickened. Let cool.
  3. Prepare Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry slightly and cut into 12 circles or squares.
  4. Fill and Shape: Place a spoonful of apple filling on one half of each pastry piece. Fold over and lightly press edges together. Optionally, crimp edges with a fork.
  5. Egg Wash: Beat the egg and brush over the tops of the pastries for a golden finish.
  6. Bake: Place on a baking sheet and bake for 18โ€“20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Cool and Dust: Let pastries cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Tips:

Use store-bought caramel sauce for an extra indulgent filling.

Add chopped nuts for extra crunch.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
